Cutting of boards

We recommend to use for cutting of MgO boards the same tools as are used for the cutting of plasterboards or OSB boards. During work the operator should be protected by suitable work aids (working goggles and gloves, respirator, etc.).

Connection of boards

There are used for the fastening of MgO boards to aluminium or wood structures screws with a milling head suitable also for example into cement boards
We can screw them through MgO boards in profiles without a need to pre-drill the openings.

Maximum distance of screws from the edge of MgO boards:
- Original edge: 10 mm
- Cutting edge: 15 mm

Maximum spacing between screws:
- Inclined surfaces and soffit: 170 mm
- Vertical surfaces 250 mm

Cementing of joints

Following the correct fastening of MgO boards we start the final activity, i.e. the cementing of slits. During this activity it is very important for the constructor to be professionally skilled. We cement horizontal and also vertical slits that originated at the installation of MgO boards on the grid but we have to re-cement also opening remained after screws or another irregularities on the surface. Cementing should be made at least two times.

Working process of cementing:
- We cement the screws with the help of spatula and fill in longitudinally and transversely the slits (width max. 4 mm) of the cut plates of MgO boards.
- We cement the filled in slits and at the same time we press in the glass band into the slits and simultaneously we cement the second time the screws and we also cement at that time all edges with a burnisher until very end.
- Following the hardening of final layer of cement we make the grinding of cement´s final layer.

Cements that are used for basic cementing should be very strong ones easily treatable and had cements.
Cements that are used for final cementing, should be easily treatable be grinding and of softer type.
The contact gap between MgO partition and existing structure should be filled with acrylic cement or MS polymer.

Final surface modifications

As soon as we have ready the structures of walls or soffits and the joints between MgO boards are cemented and the cement is already sufficiently dry, we can start to carry out final surface modifications (finishing).
It should be carried out before the final coating a basic penetration coating with which we achieve uniform adhesiveness of the whole surface, e.g. by means of basic undiluted white paint .
In moist environment (e.g. kitchen bathroom) the joints should be insulated at places where there is a risk of water leakage, by hydro-insulation bands and the surfaces should be painted by a hydro-insulation coating.
Then we can start to apply the paint, glue on the wall paper or line by ceramic tiles.
Following the application of final surface modification we have ready the whole structure and prepared for use.

Transportation of boards

The MgO boards on pallets should be transported by using high lift fork trucks to prevent their damage. We recommend for handling with individual MgO boards, in respect to their mass, to involve two persons to transfer them and one person should be on the respective side of the boards.

Storage of boards

MgO boards should be stored in dry and dust free environment.
We recommend to protect the boards on pallets by covering them with PVC foils.
MgO boards have to be placed on pallets in horizontal position. It is not suitable to place more than two pallets on each other.
The MgO boards should be protected particularly at their edges and corners against random blows and damage.
Store the MgO boards in covered area, without an option of flowing in of any liquid.
Note: to maintain the manufacturer guaranteed properties of MgO boards it is should be observed the principles of proper storage and transportation.
